ON THE CASTOR FIBER (CASTORIDAE, MAMMALIA) ACTIVITY INFLUENCE ON THE ECOSYSTEM BIODIVERSITY OF SMALL RIVERS IN THE FOREST-STEPPE ZONE

Preliminary data on the Castor fiber activity influence on the ecosystem biodiversity of small rivers in three steppe clusters within the State Nature Reserve “Volga forest-steppe” were obtained. With zooplankton, amphibians and fish as examples, it was shown that after beaver-made ponds had appeared, the abundance of all these groups increased. In old ponds, the fish abundance decreases whilst the amphibian one continues to increase. In drained ponds, the zooplankton and amphibian abundance decreases while the fishes become more numerous, due to the appearance of better flowability.

INFLUENCE OF MACROPHYTE DEVELOPMENT IN THE ZOOPLANKTON STRUCTURE FORMATION IN THE LOWER REACHES OF THE VOLGA RIVER DELTA

The cattail, reed and bur-reed association is the cenosis-forming ones for a part of the mouth of the Kutum duct of the kultuk area of the Volga river delta. The insular area of the avandelta is characterized by reed–mace associations. The terrestrial and aquatic vegetation begins to grow massively in late May. The aquatic vegetation begins to die since the end of July whereas the terrestrial vegetation, on the contrary, reaches its maximum in this period.

DAILY DYNAMICS OF HYDROCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND ZOOPLANKTON IN THE LITTORAL OF THE NOVOSIBIRSK RESERVOIR

Our results of daily monitoring of the water temperature, hydrochemical parameters, as well as the zooplankton composition and structure in the protected overgrown and non-overgrown littoral of Berd’s Bay of the Novosibirsk reservoir are presented. The data obtained allow us to reveal differences in the daily dynamics of the water temperature, hydrochemical and hydrobiological characteristics of littoral areas of different types. Features of the horizontal migrations of zooplankton are determined by the water overgrowing degree.
